"Bad Manners" has been around for over 35 years. It has been very difficult to get clear details about it's history, but here is what we have been able to find.......

Loren Barnes, Mike May and Rick Carlisle built the chassis in 1963.  Mike left the partnership and Mark Weiss bought his part of the car.  It was painted orange and had no name.  It ran 10.20’s at 135 mph with a 327 and a 4 speed.  Loren got married and sold out to Mark, who painted the car white and blue with a lace paintjob.  He named the car “Tis Quick”.  He also put a blown and injected (on alcohol) small block Chevy in it.  It ran a best time of 9.05 at 160 mph.  He raced mainly at Orange County. Jeff Krstyn bought the car in ’74 or ’75. He updated the roll cage in 1980 and renamed the car “Bad Manners” around 1984.  He raced the car at Orange County, Sears Point, Fremont, Riverside and occasionally Bonneville.

It is rumored that the car belonged to somebody in southern Utah for a while also...but I can't confirm that......

Here are some early photos of "Bad Manners" sent to me by Mark Weiss...one of the original owners:
